Summit Electric Ltd. is dedicated to creating a safe work environment, which will meet or exceed any and all safety requirements at each individual site. The employees of Summit Electric Ltd. realize that each site will be unique, requiring special attention to safety hazards exclusive to that site. Through the use of proper procedures, training, and direction, employees will be given the ability to adapt to each environment and its hazards.

Responsibility of Management

  • Ensure all employees have read and understood the safety indoctrination
  • Ensure that every piece of equipment is in good working order
  • Develop safe work procedures and train all employees in said procedures
  • Ensure the provision of and proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Actively promote safety awareness throughout the work place
  • Leading by example, to show safe work ethics within the job site

Responsibility of an Employee

It shall be the responsibility of every employee to not only follow proper safety procedures, but also to learn any procedures unique to the site on which they will be conducting work. It is also the responsibility of the employee to use all safety equipment, and to at all times comply with health and safety regulations. Each employee shall also be responsible to report any unsafe work place conditions to their supervisors. Our Safety procedures includes the Occupational Health and Safety Act which gives a worker the right to refuse work that he or she believes is unsafe. A worker who believes that he/she is endangered by workplace violence may also refuse work. All employees are aware when working on a site with multiple safety regulations, they will always default to the stricter of the policies pertaining to the given situation.
